The only time COB should be a negative thing is when your house has to do it every year. Example: KD pledges a handful of girls through COB one year and then doesn't COB for awhile after that, no big deal. Another example: SK COB'd for their first two years because they were allowed to recruit up to average chapter size and now they're not COBing because they're at max. No bid deal. The problem is when your house COB's every year. So, Sigma and Phi Mu. Both of them have retention issues, Sigma is the smallest house on campus by a hundred girls. When you have to COB every single Spring it not only shows you have a problem keeping girls, but you're willing to take anyone and everyone you can to fill your numbers.
