I mean, women can drop out and they always do. Chapters still match to quota without them! Good lord if all 1890 PNMS stuck in the process pledge classes would be like 120. It's unfortunate women drop out because they're close-minded, but a LOT of awesome greek members never had any intention of going greek! I know I didn't! I was from out-of-state and only went through rush because my mom thought it would be good for me! I NEVER would have paid 1,000 to do something that I thought I might not join. The act of trying it out and seeing if it's for you attracts WAY more quality women than it dejects. I ended up joining, loving it, being a leader in my chapter and panhellenic. If you told me I had to pay upfront and wouldn't get any of it back if I dropped out I honestly wouldn't have taken the risk of going through because I didn't know what to expect! I ended up being perfect for greek life, but I wouldn't have known that unless I went through recruitment. Women should be allowed to drop! NEWSFLASH the "bottom" chapters women drop out of because of didn't want them anyways! No chapter wants women who think they're better than them, or don't have enough integrity to see past false stereotypes. People project what they want onto "bottom" chapters. If you're not strong enough to get past a stigma than your not strong enough to be a greek member.
