What you are talking about (an urgent and late developing reason to leave a pnm who was invited to pref off the bid list) happens maybe a dozen times per year across the entire country. It requires Panhellenic approval as well as the sorority's national office approval for a RFM campus chapter to release the pnm. The only instances I have heard of are pnm's showing up drunk or high to pref. In all my years advising a Mizzou chapter, I have not once heard of this situation occuring on our campus.
