Subject:
out of state - fraternity question

Poster Message:
I have another year but I am applying to Mizzou (just about done). Assuming I end there and go through formal rush in June 2016, how difficult is it for an outsider during rush? I have a sister that went to a Southern school and it worked out well for her but half the houses cut her day one (regardless of their social tier). She later found out it was because she's not from the State or the region. No one in my area to pull experiences from as most that go to the SEC end up in Bama, Auburn, Ole Miss, USC (Columbia) and a few at UGA.. That's about 12 students out of 800. A couple went to Mizzou in the last 4 years but no one I know. I have been to Athens to visit sister and Bama. I liked both schools but I really enjoyed the people we met in Missouri and people seemed more similar to California. Any thoughts or ideas about your school or others in the SEC/Midwest. I visited KU on my visit as well but not SEC and not as nice. Going to look at USC (Columbia) later this month when I visit UGA. Any tips is appreciated.
