This post kind of annoys me. Yes, let's just act like it's not intimidating at all that 90% of the women rushing a sorority are blonde, white girls. You're right, some white girl on greek rank telling the minorities she loves them and not to be scared is soooo comforting. Easy for you to say. But It's okay for minorities to feel a bit intimidated about joining a historically very racially one dimensional organization. A post reminding minority PNMS that they are a minority and that if they weren't scared before, they should've been, but it's okay now because you told them to relax? No. Don't say that. Because it probably is a little scarier for them. The reality is that they will be outnumbered and some houses do not have minorities, and that IS scary. So let's be realistic here and just remind any minority PNM that they have a right to rush and find a potential home just like every other girl, and that they have a right to be scared and recognize their advantages and disadvantages, just like every other girl. You're not the almighty white girl telling the dark girl not to be afraid because you "love them all" like they're little puppies. She's got a right to be here but also a warranted right to be a little scared as well. I get this was supposed to be a positive post, but the wording was just a little unsettling.
