It really depends on so many things. Our house has a very strict gpa cutoff that we cannot make an exception to without approval of nationals. In one case, a woman was below that cutoff, but had family friends in the house who knew the circumstances (a major medical issue while in high school) and knew that she had overcame those circumstances. So we were granted an exception for you. If you just have a poor gpa without any reason for it, that's a problem. If you have a poor gpa with a genuine reason, and no one knows the reason, that's a problem. If you do have a story to tell behind your situation, but don't know many greek women, I'd be sure to start getting recommendation letters and explain the story to your rec writers so they can communicate that to the houses. Expect significant cuts, keep an open mind. And maybe wait until spring informal or next year, and get your gpa in order in the mean time.
