Hi! I am a proud member of Gamma Phi Beta. I am also a leader in the chapter and am part of our membership committee, so I know a bit about how our voting system works. (Certainly more than the people who aren't even members of my sorority!!!) I would swear on my life that we DO NOT discriminate. I hate the current rumors with every atom in my body. This is not what my sisterhood is about. (And no, I am not defending the picture, which was abhorrent, but was a deeply regretted mistake that cannot be undone at this point other than to acknowledge that we all make mistakes and this was a huge one that we are learning from and handling.) Please know that you will be welcomed at my house. If you are not, please tell someone in authority (not just this website) so that we have concrete names and specific details that we can address in a proactive manner. One of our core values is Learning, and I would welcome any opportunity for us to learn from a situation in which we did anything that was discriminatory or that felt discriminatory.
