Hi guys, I see a lot of you want to know more information on the COB process, but no one is getting their questions answered. When I read all of your posts, I thought back to last year when I was a freshman and ALL I wanted to do was COB. I just remember how difficult it was to find information, how everything is so secretive, etc... So I decided to give you my 411 on COBing. (Not that I know everything, this is just from my own experience). Now since pretty much everyone's exec and appointed positions have been given out, now's the perfect time to start contacting the recruitment team of houses you are interested in rushing informally with. If you sent emails earlier in the year, trust me when I say they have probably been recycled not out of meanness, but just because new exec takes over and its hard to keep on top of COB interest emails when you're switching from one person or another. If it still is the same person and you've already emailed them explaining your interest, following up never hurts. Something as simple as "Hi my name is so and so and I emailed you about a month ago about the possibility of COBing with insert house here this semester. I just wanted to do a quick follow up with you to assure you that I am still very interested in learning more about your chapter and hope to hear from you soon. Attached is my resume (optional)." This really sets you apart... be genuine. Stay interested. I did that and ended up in the house of my dreams :) Good luck ladies!
