Bottom Tier

Here's my two cents. The bottom tier might feel like you're settling at first but you're really not. I was in the same boat as you. Amazing GPA, cheerleader, part of Stu-Co, all that jazz. I had my two favorite houses and the bottom tier before the last round of cuts and on pref day I had SK, KD and Zeta. Of those three houses I really wanted to be a KD or an SK. My friend went SK a week earlier and seemed to like it and KD was my favorite of the three. Surprise! I get stuck with Zeta. I almost didn't go to bid day. I felt cheated. Honestly, I hated everything about Zeta but I sucked it up and went. And I'm so glad I did. Yes, the top tier wins more competitions. But aside from that you will still get the greek experience in a bottom tier house. My big had a girls night with me when I lost my job because they shut down and helped me forget about my troubles. My sisters keep me motivated and help me study. I always have friends to get lunch with. And no matter what house you join you will always have that. You can find friends in any house. So yeah, I agree you sound like Chi-O/Kappa/AXO/ADPi material more then a house like mine. But if you were to have my house on pref, I'd hope you'd give us a shot. Same goes with any other house, bottom tier or not. You don't know you'll hate it until you give it a chance.
