Why are we able to say you're not a good fit after 10 minutes? Yes, first round cuts are harsh, but after you're invited back day after day, you're talking to one or two of the same people within the group that is rushing you at that chapter. We know our chapter and our women inside and out - much better than any freshman could who really doesn't know the first thing about a sisterhood yet. We know what we are looking for when we are recruiting -- grades, involvement, interests, etc. We also have red flags we look for -boyfriends back home that could mean she drops the chapter and leaves Mizzou, misses home and drops the chapter to go to a college closer to her family, talks about drinking and frats, etc. We spend our 4 years continually learning and living up to the values and ideals of our chapters - trust us and trust the system. Unfortunately with 1500 girls rushing, we don't have time for PNMs to meet every single sister before we decide if we want to give you a bid. The girls standing on the sidewalk with you are the girls that chapter feels they connect with that we can see as a sister. That's what the outside doesn't seem to understand and gets so snappy about - we are potentially inviting you to be our SISTER - which is a privilege, not a right. The two houses she "isn't feeling it for" is a house of 200+ women she would be lucky to grow close to.
