Hi everyone! I will be a freshman this fall at mizzou and I am looking into the rush process. I am getting really nervous because I have recently learned a lot of houses have minimum highschool gpa requirements (myself and my family didn’t even know what rush was until a month ago). My highschool gpa is very low (below a 3.0) due to illnesses I was struggling with my freshman and sophomore year. I was diagnosed with celiac and was constantly sick during school for about a year before being diagnosed, my asthma also has come back really badly to the point where I was missing school multiple times a week to go to either the hospital or go home to use a nebulizar. There are a few more outstanding issues that caused my gpa to drop significantly. My junior year I got all A,s and B’s but because of freshman and sophomore year the gpa was still very low. This year (senior) I have taken all ap’s which has been difficult but my gpa hasn’t dropped or gone up. Should I even rush? Is there a way to give a reason for a low gpa or is it simply not worth it??
