Their reorganization (1998) basically was a closing without pulling the charter -- all the actives were forced to go alum so APhi national could recruit a brand-new chapter from scratch. The chapter was struggling badly, and national felt reorganizing was better than shutting down and then having to wait for years to recolonize. APhi did the very same thing with the chapters at Cornell, Duke, and UVA around the same time. All came back strong and are considered top/upper-mid groups today.
