As far as I am concerned, the top two posters broke no confidentiality rules because they did not divulge their sororities. I really don't see why all of this stuff is so hush-hush. Considering we, as actives, know so much about PNMs, why should we insist that the process be a mystery to them? The more transparent the process, the better. These are going to be our SISTERS. Let's give them a break and let them know how things work. It's a difficult week, but it's fair. There are ranking systems in most houses and the girls are judged on the factors that are most important to the individual sorority. For example, I'm in a house where the process starts with grades. If you don't make the high school gpa cutoff, there is barely a chance you can be seriously considered. We are allowed three "grade risks," for really special girls (often legacies) who don't make the grade cut, but no more than that. And, to be honest, it is usually the grade risks who bring down the pledge class gpa. So if you don't get asked back to my house, there is no need to carry a grudge for the rest of your college career. Most likely you didn't make the grade cut. We also have a strict numerical system on activities: they hardly count unless you were an officer of the group. We look for honors and awards, but state and national awards take precedent over local awards. We look for athletic accomplishments but, again, at the regional, sectional and state lever, not just conference. Hope that helps.
