I am from OOS and didn't know a single person when rushing or the stereotypes of any houses prior to rush week. At pref I had Kappa, DG, and AXO left. I was a legacy to Kappa (from my mom and sister at another school) and really liked them all week. I could see myself there and would have been happy but I really didn't want to join a house just because my mom and sister were that years ago in an entirely different state. But I was torn. I also really liked DG during rush. I was unsure because I didn't click with one girl that much, but the rest were great. Then I heard everyone talking about them back in the dorms, and I was super confused because I didn't want to get involved somewhere I wouldn't mesh with after rush and being OOS I had no clue what was real and what was rumor. Honestly it was really between Kappa and DG for me, I liked AXO and I have nothing but positive opinions of them to this day, something just felt more right at the other 2. Now that I've been here 2 years I realize I was picking between a "top" house and a "middle" house and the choice probably would have been super easy for most girls, but I really did love both and see pros and cons for each. I still love both, and I have friends in both, but I'm happy with the choice I made and I'm happy I made it by myself. It was a great reminder to not judge chapters based on your family, or your friends, or rumor, but really to go where you feel most comfortable and enjoy it!
