Stop it! Are you that misinformed old alum on here again? Cross-cutting is a thing of the past thanks to Quota Plus. It used to be, before RFM, that a girl would rank her two pref houses #1 and #2, but those houses had her ranked in reverse: her #1 had her ranked down on what was called the 'second bid list' and her #2 had her on the 'first bid list'. So in bid matching her #1 filled to quota before they got to her name, and her #2 had to skip over her name on their bid list to match with others so they filled quota before they got to her too. Well quota was quota and that was it, so this girl who went through pref and ranked both houses ended up without a bid at all. Cross-cut. Heartbreaking. But RFM now allows for Quota Additions so this doesn't happen. When a PNM ranks both houses and doesn't match to either before they reach quota, she will still get a bid, even though it will place one of these over quota. The algorithm will try to place her with her #1, but will also consider chapter total and her place on the bid lists. This does not apply if a PNM only ranks one of her two pref houses, called Single Intentional Preference or SIP (suiciding). In that case if the PNM does not match with that one house, she is not eligible to be a quota addition and will not receive a bid.
