Subject:
Don’t fall for bid promising

Poster Message:
I’m not going to name any names, but certain chapter get a little too caught up with getting headliner girls to join and sometimes they like to break the rules of recruitment and promise PNMs a bid during recruitment. And unfortunately many end up suicide bidding (only picking one chapter after preference round) because they feel certain that’s the house they’re joining then come bid day their pi chi’s call in the morning saying they didn’t receive a bid. A single girl does not have the power to ensure you’ll be in the sorority so don’t fall for that. It’s not that they do this to harm the PNM, it’s just some girls overestimate how much the rest of the chapter wants someone. Chapters vote on ranked spots for their bid list after the last round, which is used for the bid matching process. So essentially if you are not ranked within or relatively near the spots for the bid quota and only picked one house on preference round then you won’t get matched with a bid. If you select your maximum amount of options on preference round you will get a bid no matter what. Chapter are allowed quota additions for the girls who made it to preference round, chose the max options, but the system didn’t initially match (you’ll never know where you ranked on a bid list or if you’re a quota addition, don’t worry babe). I believe in that scenario you’ll get a bid to the chapter you ranked first, but not entirely sure. And chapters are just fine with quota additions because by preference round all the girls invited are considered women that sorority sees could fit into their sisterhood well. There’s my rant. I just hate seeing girls get screwed over a chance to join a sorority in the fall because they got caught up in a promised that couldn’t necessarily be kept
