I had a 4.2 weighted GPA, a 3.8 unweighted GPA, a 24 on the ACT, and was involved in many clubs, organizations, and sports. I held executive and captain positions in some of these activities. During the recruitment process, I received bids from four top houses, except for preference round because you only get 2 back. I was offered bids from Chi O, Kappa, Pi Phi, and Theta. I believe my strong social skills played a significant role in my success. I submitted recommendation letters for Chi O and Kappa, but not for Pi Phi and Theta. I had no connections with any of these houses since I come from a smaller town. My experience suggests that there is hope for anyone in a similar position because I stood out to not just one, but four top houses.
