Honestly I COB'd but am very aware of the politics behind going Greek in general. Whether it's rush or COB'ing. a lot of Greek Life has to do with who you know. It's just the way it is. And honestly life is no different. People with connections usually get ahead, that's just the way it is. Now that isn't to say that there aren't LOTS of girls who Rush/COB completely on their own (neither with legacies or recs) and still end up exactly where they want to be whether it's a top, middle, or bottom tier house. (Yes ladies, not everyone is interested in being top tier.. Some girls actually do care more about being Greek than just the label!) It is easier when you know people, but that's just life. It's easier to get a job if someone who works there can vouch for your abilities, character, etc. Same goes for rush or COB'ing. But that should not discourage anyone… Often times it is easy to tell whether someone is being genuine, legacy or not. If you seem like you'd fit in and you're what the chapter is looking for, you have a good chance. I'm just saying it isn't fool proof and always fair, but honestly what is in life anyways? Just my thought!
