You will have a much better chance of getting into a good house if you rush as a freshman. Some houses take just one or two sophomores vs. 70+ freshmen. Plus, if you haven't gotten good grades in high school it's unlikely you will get stellar grades as a freshman in college. In short, if you have good grades in high school, activities, honors, recs, better than average looks and the ability to hold a conversation, you should do fine during rush. Some people think rush is hectic and stressful. I guess it is, but I also thought it was fun. It's a whirlwind, but it's also the opportunity to meet wonderful people, to see where you want to live and with whom, and to learn to trust your feelings and instincts, which is a HUGE part of growing up. I'd say go for it. And keep an open minds because there really aren't any bad sisterhoods in our greek system.
