Honestly yes it would. Every house has grade cuts around a 3.0, but will sometimes make exceptions for like a 2.9 if the girl is REALLY amazing in every other way. You would be better off working hard freshman year and COBing or rushing as a sophomore. OR another good idea would be to rush as a freshman anyway, just to get a headstart on befriending girls in sororities/your dorm/pi chi group/... but don't get your hopes up. Then later on if you COB/rush again it could help you out A LOT already knowing girls in the houses. Just being realistic.
