It depends on the house and the grade scale. A 3.5 on an honors grade scale (where some A's are 5-point A's) is too low for houses like ChiO, Theta and PiPhi that have extremely strict grade standards. But it might be OK for other houses. A 3.0 won't get you asked back at any of the houses that pride themselves on grades. And grades are just one factor. You also have to stand apart when it comes to leadership (elected positions), charity work, athletics (going to state or holding a record), and other competitive activities. I'm not saying this to be rude, I just think it's fair to let potential rushees know what's ahead. There's a reason why Mizzou's sorority system is second to none. Besides, there still is time for high school seniors to up their game before the end of the year if they want a top house. And, oh yeah, one more thing. It also depends on whether you went to a competitive high school, not one of those private schools where everyone gets an A unless they screw up. ACT/SATs count, too.
