Everyone is at a disadvantage, sorority members as well as PNMs. That's why recs are important, because they offer a more detailed explanation of who you are. As for the physical houses, some are dumps, but most are nice. Some are classically beautiful (ADPi, PiPhi) some are new and spacious (XO, Zeta), and some are nothing special but certainly adequate (Theta, KD). Some of the newer houses come with outrageous dues, so be sure to ask about that. Otherwise just do your best and see where you click. And if you aren't happy with the results, don't settle.
