Subject:
PNMs: a note before recruitment starts

Poster Message:
Hi PNMs! I hope you’re excited to start recruitment next week. I know recruitment and this year are going to be different than what you imagined, but I promise you, it will be ok. In all seriousness, Mizzou has one of the best Panhellenic systems in the country and every single one of the sororities on campus are outstanding, and some of the best chapters of their national organizations. You really can’t go wrong with any of the sororities here: it’s just a matter of what girls you mesh best with. Please don’t pay attention to this website and throw away any preconceived notions you have going into recruitment. Tiers are only a thing your freshman year, and mostly just your first semester if that, so don’t worry if a “top tier” house drops you or if you find yourself liking a “bottom tier” house more than you had hoped. I’m a member of a sorority here and I can genuinely say that I have at least one or two friends in every sorority, and close friends in about half of them (and not necessarily ones that you would automatically group together). Next week will be hard, but it will be okay. You will hear this a million times next week, but everything really does happen for a reason. You will end up exactly where you’re meant to end up. In my case, I received a bid from my second choice, but now looking back I am so happy that I am where I am because can’t see myself in the chapter I preffed first. That’s not to say it’s a bad house because it’s not, but I’m thriving in mine. Keep your head held high. This is our first time doing virtual recruitment too, so we’re just as nervous as you are. If you trust the process and let your personality & accomplishments shine, everything will work itself out the way it should.
