I live 500 miles from Mizzou and loved recruitment. I was asked back to every house I wanted and had excellent choices throughout the process. My sophomore year, on the other side of rush, I learned why. I had a 3.9/4.0 and a 32 on the ACTs. I had lots of leadership positions and was an active volunteer. But mainly I didn't have anyone from my high school saying nasty things about me. I truly believe not knowing anyone and being from out of state is an advantage. Those St. Louis girls can be really catty and if they don't know you they can't say anything bad. They had to judge me just on me. I also was a legacy, and while it's an excellent house, it just wasn't for me so I chose not to go back. I wound up in a great house and thank God every day that I've made such good friends. I really miss them. Good luck to you.
