While every house takes sophomores, it seems the top houses just take a few. The good thing about sophomores going through recruitment with a high GPA is that houses know you won't be a grade risk and that's a plus. The not-so-good thing is that once you join you will be hanging out with freshmen, some of whom are really immature and clueless. I would aim for a house with a high GPA because they have figured out how to recruit people who likely won't flunk out. Houses with lower GPAs are constantly COBing and membership is like a revolving door. The sisterhood suffers, too. But once you find a house where you are comfortable and has the same standards you do, make an effort to hang around the house with other sophomores after you've joined, because that's your peer group. Good luck!
