Okay dude. There are so many men in Greek life who are business majors, especially in finance and management, i don’t think that would narrow down any frats for you. Tbh your major won’t really influence who will want to give you a bid... you should definitely rush first semester. I have had a lot of friends who were interested in being in a fraternity but initially wanted to wait until spring semester and all they did was complain about social lives and not having a place to consistently tailgate at. Fall pledges have a lot of fun with all the homecoming stuff they do and they have a bigger pledge class so you’ll have so many more people to bond with. My little brother just did fraternity formal recruitment at the beginning of last semester and he liked it because he had a chance to check out a lot frats before settling on one. Majority do informal, but often times it tends to be guys rushing the same houses as guys they knew in high school or where their older brother joined. If you’re from out of state I’d recommend trying formal recruitment because it can be harder to have the connections to be invited to rush events. Regardless of what you do email recruitment chairs of fraternities starting around May to find out about rush events the frats will hold and you can have a chance to meet some of the guys of those frats in that area and do something fun and establish a contact. And as far as the best frats go... it really depends. Beta, Delt, Pike, ATO are subjectively the most popular but every guy wants to be in the best, and but that doesn’t always work out and some end up in middle to bottom tier. I’d focus on going with who you connect with more because if you don’t get along well with the majority of your frat, you probably won’t make it through pledging and drop. Girls will come to your parties no matter where you join, some more than others. Some middle tier houses are huge favorites for their housing set up for tailgates over some top houses for example theta chi/ ag sig (they do a combined one), AEPi, Phi Delt, DU. However this is just my take on things, some will agree with me and some won’t. Take it one step at a time. Good luck, and humble yourself when you join. Being Greek is a lot of fun but doesn’t make you better than those who aren’t or more necessarily more desirable to girls.
