Houses aren't THAT strict on grade cuts. For example, my house's grade cut is a 3.2. BUT we do take a few girls every year who are below that. Either because we really loved them, or they're a legacy. I'm pretty sure all of the grade cuts are atleast 3.0+, many of them are 3.2+ or 3.3+. Yes, grade cuts are usually after the first day... but again, if you're a legacy or have an amazing rec letter or we just really loved you, we'll still give you a chance and invite you back. If you're just average and didn't particularly stand out, and you're below the grade cut, we aren't going to give you a chance and you'll likely be cut after the first day.
