Go through informal if you still want that sorority experience and don't want to wait until Formal Recruitment next year. And by taking another look at the houses participating in Informal, you may find that some of the other houses are the perfect place for you, grades notwithstanding. And a "top tier" house is not always the right fit for everyone - so keep an open mind as you go through the process.
