Informal/COBing is a great way to get a 2nd look at the houses participating (and for them to get a 2nd look at you). Sure, some of the houses have "hard" grade cuts/standards, but there are grade exceptions that can be made if they find you fit into their membership in other ways. Give it a try! And good luck!
