HI! So, there are many girls in sororities who are "Catholic" or "Lutheran" but, it is SO hard to hold onto your faith in the Greek system unless you are very proactive about your faith. Personally, my house is not one with a bible study and this last year was very difficult for me to find Christian friends. AXO has some very strong Christian women. I think Theta has a bible study, but I'm not sure. So, while all houses were probably rooted in Christian beliefs when they were founded, those beliefs, morals, and standards are rare to find within the Greek system at Mizzou. I love my sisters more than anything, but if you are not strong and rooted in your faith now, I would not recommend rushing this summer. That being said, take the first semester to focus on grades, be very involved, make friends who are Greek, and focus on your relationship with God. If it's still something you want to do, COB. Almost every house does it anyways, there's nothing wrong with it. If you don't want to COB, rush as a sophomore. It's a little harder but get in house recs. BUT, if you feel like your relationship with God is strong enough to go through some tests, rush this summer. Going Greek is one of the best choices I've ever made, but not spiritually.
