The system failed for me. I transferred in as a junior so I was left with 2 houses after open round. They were the "bottom" houses that I really didn't enjoy going to during recruitment. I chose the one that I thought would be the best choice for me and I was ecstatic that I actually got into a house until I met the girls I would be calling my sisters. Many of the girls were mean and thought they were better than the rest of us, but I figured that was natural for some people. I have never felt welcome in this sorority and living in house has caused a lot of unnecessary anxiety. All in all, I do not agree with what my sorority has become, but I do feel as though I found a (small) group of women that I can call my friends for a very long time. I often wonder what house I would be in if I had only rushed as a freshman. I do not regret rushing as a junior, but I still question the system.
