Now it gets tough. Many PNMs are left with houses they thought would be in their rear view mirror. Their hearts are breaking. But I encourage you to weigh lots of options before making a rash decision and going home. This is why: 1) You can find friends in any house. The sororities and pledge classes here are so large that you can find a common bond even if it might not seem that way now. 2) If it gets down to the last day and you are still very unhappy with your choices, you have just one decision to make. Do you want to be Greek or not? If you do, you can find a sisterhood in any house. If you don't, that's OK, too. There is not just one right choice. 3) If you decide to go Greek, embrace it and give it your best shot. That way if you decide later it's not for you and you leave there will be no regrets. 4) If you are happy with just one of your choices, you can suicide. But do it with the understanding that you might very well wind up with nothing. That's OK, too. 5) If rush doesn't go your way and you find yourself not part of the Greek system for whatever reason, embrace that, too. Work on making strong friendships in the dorm and consider them your "sisterhood." You only live in a sorority house one year anyway, and then you move to an apartment. You can be just as close to your friends in the dorm and live with them later off campus (on in a dorm for a 2nd year). Good luck and no matter what happens, you have a wonderful year - and life - ahead of you.
