I'm in a top tier house and got bid promises from my two final houses so to say it doesn't happen ever is a little far fetched... Mind you, having gotten my first choice I haven't been one to complain about it. Yes, there are girls whose feelings got hurt when they took an enthusiastic comment too seriously but to say it doesn't happen (esp in the top houses that are recruiting the most desired pnms) is simply not true. We all know there is a lot of dirty rushing that goes down (admit it or not) HOWEVER it's a pnms responsibility to realize that one girl can't promise you a bid, even if she genuinely will fight to the death for you she's only one person - don't take anything that one girl says too seriously or you're at risk of being let down.
