The all university average (3.129) is significantly higher than the all male average (2.973). What I don't see the university keeping track of is what GPA males living in the dorms are compared to those in fraternities. It would have to be lower, because the all male average and the all freshmen male average lag the Greek averages. There are 36 fraternities. 21 of them have averages above 3.0. New member classes are smaller and thus more directly affected by one washout. Which everyone gets. Greek Life is most certainly not for everyone. That's not the argument. The argument is that it is for some, and the university shouldn't be using its influence to cast doubts on individuals decision.
