Advisors are paid to advise. Greek life isn't for everyone and it's irresponsible to draw conclusions from one example. Plus, dropout rates and failure rates are bad enough among Mizzou fraternities, and those rates are MUCH HIGHER than among sorority women. I fail to see why you would want men to pledge and live in the house when it may not be in their best interest. Now, if IFC and the men in fraternities here decide to do something about their dismal gpa, it might be a different story. The most recent grades, however, show 2/3rds of fraternity gpa's falling below the all-university average. And that's just awful. I hope this guy takes his advisor's advice, frankly.
