This is gonna be long so my B and I doubt people scroll to read this but whatever it's worth it to me. I came into rush almost positive that I was going to be in a certain house. I'm involved in a fall athletic activity so I had to have a compromised rush schedule. I didn't get to see all the houses due to this reason and had to pref the first time basically with no knowledge on the girls or houses because I missed both open house days. I was cut from the house I really thought I wanted, but even though it's cliche, I. Knew the "trust the system" line was true because I think every woman ends up where she is meant to be. Several girls in my activity made fun of me for rushing saying that they wouldn't want people "like me" (whatever that means). I was heart broken. I went through the rest of rush having absolutely no idea what a "good house" and "bad house" was. I was hardly ever with my pi chi group because I was at practice except for when I was in line ready to enter the houses. My pi chi was the one that really kept me going through all this. I am in a house that is considered bottom teir and I couldn't be happier. Being Greek is much more than being in a popular house or top tier house. We see that bottom teir houses can do well in hoco and Greek week and so can top tiers. Honestly what matters is what makes you happiest. It's hard not To go in with stereotypes but finding a house that is willing to embrace you for you is what's important. no matter the teir
