Every house has every type of girl, I suppose, and none of us can know about a sisterhood until we are part of it. But I knew that when I wore my letters I would be judged, so I didn't want to join a house that didn't reflect who I am. As recruitment wound down, I knew I would only be happy as a member of ChiO, PiPhi, Theta, ADPi, Kappa or AXO. I didn't want a party house because I'm pre-med and I didn't want a house that doesn't take grades seriously. So, while I was very fortunate to wind up with my first choice, I probably would have dropped before the last day if I didn't have three houses to choose from that reflected my standards. I also went in to rush knowing that being Greek is not the only way to experience college, even though I am a legacy to two houses, so it wasn't really a gut-wrenching decision for me.
