As long as people who haven't seen the stats are bashing the girl who has, I must concur that Alpha Phi was in the bottom five during August rush. In fact, according to the figures that were released to the rush chairs in each house on Nov. 8, Alpha Phi was fifth from the bottom in return rates. My guess is that the only reason they weren't lower is that they don't do grade cuts and they retained all of the girls who were cut from better houses who didn't see themselves as a Phi Mu, Tri Sig, etc. But this hasn't paid off for them because their retention rate also is in the bottom five. And there is no way a house with abysmal return and retention rates and a pretty awful gpa can be in the top tier on a campus with standards as high as ours. Now, before you rant on about how Alpha Phi must have hurt my feelings, I have two good friends from the dorm who pledged Alpha Phi and they bemoan the weak status of their house. They wish their pledge class were still intact, but that's not the case because so many girls flunk out, drop out or deactivate. Sorry I'm not sorry, but Alpha Phi really needs to get its act together. Of all the sororities with such a lengthy history on this campus, Alpha Phi remains mired in mediocrity.
