This is a new low, even by Green Rank standards. To the woman who is trying desperately to convince us she works at a Big 4 accounting firm: you are the stupidest person ever on this site. This is how it works, and if you were familiar with the process you would know: 1) you're an accounting major who gets decent grades 2) you get multiple internship offers and take the one you want from a Big 4 firm. In my case, I took the PWC internship offer because I live in a different state and could save money by living at home while interning at PWC. 3) you do well during your internship and you get a job offer. 4) you accept the job offer 5) you start your job after you graduate. In my case it will be in June 6) you do all the grunt work that first years are expected to do. That includes conducting audits with your peers in dark little rooms at the headquarters of major companies 7) you pass the CPA exam 8) later, usually on your anniversary date you get your first promotion (because everyone does unless you screw up) 9) you start to think that you would like an actual life so you decide if, now that you have passed the CPA exam, you want to leave public accounting now or wait until another promotion. Most wait for that second promotion, but not all. But by the end of 3 years 70% of the people you started with will have gone on to better job. There is no prestige in being a Big 4 accountant, and the longer you stay the more it means your job offers in the 2&3 years weren't up to par.
