When you sign an MRABA you are saying that you will accept a bid to ANY of the chapters you preference. You will go to a max of two houses on Friday, and you can opt to preference both chapters (A, B) ) or just one chapter (known as single intention preferencing or SIP). You will not be eligible for a bid to Chapter A if you only choose to put down chapter B, and vice versa. If you put down ALL of your options (could be two chapters or one, depending on your pref schedule) then you will be placed with a chapter. That means if you only have one chapter on pref, you are guaranteed to be placed there. If you choose to SIP when you have two chapters available to pref, you potentially could wake up on Bid Day to a call saying you were not placed, because you did not maximize your options and the chapter you preffed matched to quota through their bid list before they got to you on the list (this could happen if you are not high on the list... say that quota is 80 and you are #115 on the bid list, and the chapter only needs to go up to #105 to match) Hope that helps! Your best bet is if you want to be Greek and would fit in with both chapters you pref, pref both of them. That way, you are guaranteed to end up at one of them and live happily ever after.
