My freshman year on the way to columns (bid day is at the stadium now) to walk to bid day I got the most heartbreaking phone call from my Pi Chi that I did not receive a bid from any sororities. I cried for 2 hours straight. I went through recruitment entitled and with preconceived notions and really wanted to be a GPhi and had been invited back there literally all week, also went to Theta and APhi on preference, but when it came time to preference GPhi was the only sorority I listed (single option or suicide preferencing). In 2015 when I was a sophomore I signed up for recruitment again, and this time with a more open mind and I ended up in a sorority different than any of the ones I mentioned before and I absolutely love it. Yes, not getting a bid is possiblility, but the likelihood isn't that huge. Learn from my experience and don't single option preference, because I very well could have been Greek my freshman year had I not limited my options. Also staying in recruitment the whole time will help you get a bid. Most girls who don't get bids drop out of recruitment. Don't be worried but please learn from this.
