Let's get some facts straight. Alpha Phi cannot REQUIRE study hours. It is against their International policies and considered hazing. They can, however require study hours for girls who are on academic probation. So, all of the nay-sayers who seem to think APhi doesn't try to help their girls who aren't making grades, can stop. Second, Alpha Phi does not fine for missing events, as it is the objective that members should go to events because they want to, not because they are being forced. This also comes in to play if girls work, have night classes, homework, etc ... to encourage them to remain a well-rounded student and not let sorority involvement take over their life. However, they do fine for missing formal chapter, recruitment, and initiation. Can we be done? PNM's .... know that every house will have a group of girls within the 200+ women who you will find someone to connect with. At the end of the day, it does not matter what your house's average GPA was -- it matters what YOUR GPA is, YOUR involvement. And honestly? Yes, Alpha Phi needs help in academics and involvement, look at it as an opportunity to make a difference! Happy Recruitment.
