Thank you for posting this, because you speak the truth - think for yourself, make decisions for yourself. This is why you are going to college. Your story is sad but true - relationships that you think are solid can change in a blink of an eye when faced with a major life-changing experience like going away to college. There are so many girls who go through recruitment thinking they have to be in a "certain" house, only to drop out of recruitment because they didn't get into the house they wanted because it was the popular choice, or because that was the house all of their friends wanted and they were cut from that house. My advice to the PNMs - be brave, be bold, and think/make decisions for yourself. Make the decisions during rush that bring you closer to the person you will become, rather than with the group of people or the person you used to be.
