Remember, many factors play in to retention and retention problems. The University is currently under a time of great change in regard to enrollment, etc and although initially stated they would not raise out of state tuition, they recently announced that they would, in fact, raise out of state tuition. Some of our houses here, as repeatedly stated, are made up of a majority of Missouri residents, there are houses that are heavily populated with St Louis, Kc, etc girls. Other houses take in more out of state girls. Like experienced in the general population of Mizzou students, many decided not to return after first semester and some chose to finish out the year but will not be returning for the 16-17 year. There are SEVERAL houses that lost A LOT of girls, even from their most recent pledge class. Other houses decided to make some changes and really start addressing issues/behaviors, so good for them. There are some houses that year after year have a difficult time holding on to girls, and yes, that's part of a bigger problem. But this past year has seen many changes, and as stated, when someone is paying $20,000+ a year more than Missouri residents with no relief in site, there will continue to be many transfers and less out of state students attending.
