The way I read this is maybe our 'top' houses aren't as great as they try to make themselves out to be. It's kind of like throwing a party-they have the most people wanting to come back because most of them are family and/or have a connection. If you take all legacies out of every house here and look at the numbers and who wants to go back to certain houses, those top 3 would not be top 3. The reason they get their 'choice' (don't even agree they do)is because they have so many legacy to cut. Legacies are always asked back a second time and then cut. Most other houses take grade risk legacies, they don't. Of course they should have great grades(should be better in my opinion). I now understand why people have said the top tier has changed, girls wanting a house only because they are legacy doesn't say too much about that girl, does it? Just because her mom or sister are in a house doesn't mean she connects with the girls in the house, you can't choose your family but you can choose your 'sisters'.
