Subject:
legacies, supposed top houses and so on

Poster Message:
Some already know this, and some do not but to clarify. Our 'top' houses are considered 'top' because of 2 main things-they are more selective and their grades are better. However, because the 3 houses many refer to as 'top' are also known nationally as a more established sorority(being around longer with more chapters across the country) they naturally will have more legacies going through recruitment. Those 'top' houses have to be more 'selective' to maintain their standing, and if they are getting 10 times the number of legacies that other houses get, they obviously can not take all of them because, as stated numerous times, they would fill their pledge class with only legacies. So an easy way for them to cut legacies, is, first, by grades. Now some of the other houses on this campus which do not have such a large national organization, or have not been on this campus as long, get fewer legacies, and most houses here take ALL legacies(that comes down from nationals), thus taking more 'grade risks'. Since a very large proportion of our greek pnm's are from Missouri, many are direct legacies of Mizzou, thus some of those houses that have been on this campus the longest. So those houses that have bragged about not being able to take all legacies, and cutting 2/3 of them, obviously could be more selective just based upon the fact of girls wanting to join their mom, sister, aunts house. Hope that helps to put it in perspective for people.
