Here's the thing - if you go through recruitment aiming to only join a top tier house, you're either going to join a house for the wrong reasons, or you're going to be disappointed. Recruitment shouldn't be about social status, it should be about where you fit in. Some girls fit in at Chi O, others fit in at Phi Mu. It doesn't make one wrong. What matters isn't which house has the highest return rates, best tumblr, or is "hottest", but which house YOU feel at home in. The thing about top tier houses is that they're good recruiters. They are good at making almost EVERYONE feel like they would fit in. However, after recruitment you'll see that those houses you may have thought you were meant to be in on the first day of recruitment would not feel so homey if you were actually in them. The top tier houses make everyone feel like they'd fit in, and then choose the girls who would actually fit in (and are top because they don't have to worry much about losing them). I thought I LOVED pi phi on the first two days of recruitment. Eventually they dropped me, and now looking at the Pi Phi's I truly know, I am certain that I wouldn't feel at home there - they're great, but it wouldn't be home. And while I didn't see that during recruitment, Pi Phi did, and wisely dropped me. That allowed me to join a house that is truly my home. Don't go in to recruitment looking to join a top tier house, go in to it looking to find sisters, and that's what you'll find
