For some PNMs, they have no desire to join a "top tier" house because of the stereotypes they carry. They would rather be who they are and be comfortable in their own skin with people they genuinely like to be with, rather than trying hard to be something they are not with people they really don't like at all. My advice to potential PNMs - don't buy into the "tier system" as a way to evaluate which houses are right for you - go with your heart and chose the sorority where you feel the most at "home" and join the sisterhood that make you feel good about yourself, because that will end up being your family for the next 4 years.
