Tiers only matter on this website and during competition season. I personally only judge a girl by the way she acts. GPA matters in the sense that you CAN be prevented from getting in a house if your GPA is too low. The first round of cuts is always grades so if you make it past the first round with a house, you've met their GPA cut-off. Recs and legacies do help. A lot of times they guarantee you to another round. And if you're in a tie with someone to be cut from the house, a rec letter can give you the edge over another girl. It's complicated but here's my advice; get as many rec letters as you can. They can only help. But not having them won't hurt you. I'm in a house that I didn't have a rec letter or legacy for. You'll be fine without them.
