This is a problem nationally. There is a low spot demographically because Gen X just didn't have as many kids as Baby Boomers, who produced millennials. It is such a problem at U. of Wisconsin and Illinois, for example, that they are offering more scholarship money to in-state students to fill their ranks, which means fewer students are opting to attend Mizzou. This happens every other generation, because World War II delayed childbirth among the "Greatest Generation." So don't worry. Mizzou will be just fine. We still have many nationally ranked programs (Journalism, accountancy, nursing) and will still attract great students who want a major university experience.
